Project 2 Painted Illustration Deadline, Wednesday, March 3
Alter the surface of and image with paint, vector and editing tools and filters.
The concept: Alter the color, texture and content of a photograph to look like a hand made artwork, a drawing or a painting. The purpose: To become familiar with Photoshop’s tools, panels and commands. To experiment with Photoshop's painting and editing tools and filters while you create an illustration for a poem.
The goal of this project is to make the image look as though it is a hand-made artwork like a drawing, oil or acrylic painting, water color or other mixed media. Strive to convert the photographic quality into a wet or dry media illustration
2. Choose appropriate images for the poem. You may composite images from more than one photograph, and you may use images from the Web. 3. Duplicate the images background into a new layer or create an empty new layer. 4. Alter the photo’s color and surface texture with the painting and editing tools and filters. 5. Include as a title: Ninth Duino Elegy by Rainer Maria Rilke. Apply a Layer Style to the text.6. Focus on creating texture, altering color and eliminating the photographic qualities of the image, and endowing it with a hand-made look.
Specifications: Illustration should fit into a 10”wide x 10” tall square. 300ppi, RGB
